State police are reporting that the garage on Faith Alive United Methodist Church's property was broken into and robbed over the long holiday weekend.

Stolen items include a pressure washer, leaf blower, weed trimmer, hedge trimmer, a Craftsman toolbox containing various tools, an air compressor and other miscellaneous items.The theft happened sometime between last Friday and Tuesday."The garage was locked," church administrator Renee DeHaven said."They came in on the lower side of the garage and force a window open. It was weathered, so the screws came out easily."The culprits then emptied a garbage bag and used it and a piece of fence to cover the window facing the side street so the neighbors wouldn't see anything, DeHaven said.The thieves then opened the bay doors and loaded the equipment into a truck, judging by the tire marks in the grass.The garage was built after the church, and had not been included in the security system.DeHaven said the church has photographs and serial numbers for the stolen items, and that all necessary information has been turned over to the state police and the insurance company.An ongoing investigation by state police has, as of yet, revealed no information about the thieves or the location of the missing equipment.If you have any information about the incident, please call 610-681-1850.
