The Pottsville Bureau of Police has become aware of counterfeit currency being used at businesses in the city and surrounding communities in Schuylkill County.

Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky said that, in particular, $20 dollar bills with the serial number JB80647767E have been used at several locations.As always, businesses should be vigilant in accepting cash payments of larger denomination bills, and should contact the local law enforcement agency immediately if any suspected counterfeit currency is used or attempted to be used at their establishment.
