Mahoning Township police report they found students carrying knives on two separate occasions at Packer Ridge Academy.

On Dec. 7, 2016, and again on Friday, police responded to the Packer Ridge Academy on Route 209 in Packerton for students found carrying knives.

In the first instance a folding serrated knife was seized from a student age 14. In the second instance a folding serrated knife was seized from a student age 13.

Juvenile charges are pending in both investigations.

Possession of a weapon on school property is a misdemeanor offense.
