Snow showers possible today, wind chills below zero tonight

A dusting to an inch of snow is possible in the southern Poconos and adjacent far northwest New Jersey today. Untreated roads may become slick.

Wind chills below zero are expected tonight. Although the forecast wind chills are not expected to reach advisory or warning levels, they are forecast to be the coldest the region has seen in quite some time.

The latest forecast:

Today: Scattered snow showers, mainly between noon and 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. West wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 18. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. Northwest wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 10. North wind 9 to 14 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 37. North wind 5 to 8 mph.
