Franklin Township firefighters were called Monday afternoon to a brush fire in the twelve hundred block of Long Run Road.

They discovered a fire burning rapidly up a steep wooded hillside to the rear of a home.

Fire personnel dragged hand lines to extinguish as other cut down burning trees with chain saws.

Assisting at the scene were personnel from the Bureau of Forestry.
