The winter storm warning remains in effect from 8 pm today to 6 p.m. Tuesday, with totals being upgraded to 18-24 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are expected late Monday night and Tuesday morning. Snow will diminish by Tuesday evening. The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines.Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous.
