A Schuylkill County girl was struck by a pickup truck while riding a bicycle at about 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday in Minersville and later died.

Borough police identified the victim as Caitlyn Konkus, 12, of 133 E. Laurel St.According to police Konkus was riding a bicycle north on the sidewalk of N. Second Street and traveled into the path of a pickup truck driven by Erica Mabry, 29, of 522 N. Front St., Minersville, operating a Nissan Titan truck.Police said Mabry had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of N. Second and Lewis Streets and then continued onto Lewis Street when the collision occurred.Konkos was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, where she was pronounced dead.Police are still investigating the accident and did not say if any charges would be filed against Mabry.
