While the storm was raging in all its fury, a bolt of lightning killed Samuel Gillotti, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Gillotti of New Columbus. Samuel went to the sink to secure some water and just as he reached the basin there was a blinding flash, a crack, and the lights in the home went out. When the father lit a match, he found his son lying on the floor, the odor of burning flesh being very strong. The bolt hit the chimney, proceeded down tht airway and ripped out a section of the inner wall, entered the fuse box, and leaped to the water sink.
