Business Administrator Christie Steigerwalt presented the 2023-24 final budget to the board for final approval at the Northwestern Lehigh School Board June meeting.
“Tonight, we’re asking for your approval of the 2023-24 final budget,” she said. “We have budgeted revenues of $48 million.
“Our operating expenses are budgeted at $50.8 million.
“We are asking to increase millage by 0.7518 mills, making our new mileage rate 19.0908.
“To close the shortfall, we would use the remaining $1.5 million from the fund balance.”
School board directors approved the final budget.
Another item on the agenda for final approval was the Future Ready Comprehensive Plan.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Troy Sosnovik spoke briefly on the plan.
“As we discussed, this is the final approval of our Future Ready Comprehensive Plan,” Sosnovik said. “If the board approves it tonight, it will then move forward for submission to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.”
The board then approved the plan.
