If you’re in the market for a used bus and are mechanically inclined, Schuylkill County has a deal for you.

Commissioners on Wednesday agreed to put out of service Schuylkill Transportation System vehicles up for sale to the highest bidder.

The surplus vehicles will be sold via “competitive online or electronic auction sale according to the county’s competitive bidding process.”

An advertisement for the sale will be published on July 19, with a tentative award date of Aug. 23.

The county is offering two Ford E 350 buses, both with bad engines; nine Ford E 450 buses, all with bad engines; a Ford Expedition with a rotted body and 148,557 miles on the odometer; and a Gillig bus BRT with 319,546 miles on it. It needs motor work and tires.
