Baer Memorial Swimming Pool in Lehighton will open Saturday for Memorial Day weekend.

Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The pool will then be open from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

From that point, hours will be noon to 7 p.m. the remainder of the season, weather pending, according to borough recreation director Tom Evans.

Evans said pool memberships are available for Carbon County residents. The daily rate for Carbon residents is $10 for adults, and $5 for children.

Swimming lessons are offered with the pool membership, Evans said, and added they also give private lessons. Evening lessons start June 12, with morning lessons starting June 22.

The pool’s concession stand has plenty of items to choose from, Evans said.

“We try to cater to the kids and families,” he said. “It’s like a miniature water park for kids to enjoy.”

Evans encouraged Carbon residents to enjoy the amenities the pool has to offer.

“It’s one of the nicest, cleanest, facilities (around),” he said. “We pride ourselves on our cleanliness.”
