Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows in Luther Hall.

Community Vacation Bible School is Aug. 1-3 at 6 p.m. Sunday church school resumes Sept. 10.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or desiring to seek membership at Trinity, please preregister by calling the church office. New member class guidelines meet at 1 p.m. on May 28.

The Food Pantry continues to be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, limited to five bags or boxes. Sales receipts support the food pantry. Trinity’s 150th Anniversary festival worship with Holy Communion is at 3 p.m. on June 4. Associate of the NEPA Synod bishop Rev. Carl Shankweiler presides. Rev. Moore assists. All are welcome to attend the worship service.

Trinity is honored to be overnight host to the visiting Illini 4000 Bike Team. The Illini 4000 is a nonprofit student-run organization from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign dedicated to documenting the American cancer experience, raising funds for cancer research and patient support services, as well as spreading awareness for the fight against cancer through an annual cross-country bike ride. The Lehighton stop is third on their route to San Francisco. Everyone is invited to meet and greet the team as they arrive May 29 at the Lehighton Trailhead, D&L Trail Spur, near Stanley Hoffman Blvd., 1-4 p.m. They depart early the next morning pedaling on the D&L Trail & continue on to their next stop in Milton. Christ Evangelical

Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr., West in Lehighton invites you to their weekly worship service beginning at 10:30 a.m.

• Sunday School for children and youth every Sunday 11 a.m. (except 1st Sunday of the month)

• Sister Chix (support group for widows and divorced women): The last Sunday of each month at noon. Please bring your lunch, dessert and coffee supplied. St. John’s Evangelical

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton, will hold a worship service at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday. All access worship in the Fellowship Hall.

• Rummage Sale: May 26, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and May 27, 8 a.m.-noon. Don’t forget your donation for our shelter animals when you come to shop our Rummage Sale. You can get up to two raffle tickets to take a chance at winning either a $25 Giant or $25 Walmart gift card. The residents of the Carbon County Friends of Animals and Carbon County Animal Shelter will be thankful for your donations. Some of the items needed at our puppy friends: Alpo snacks, Peanut Butter, Soft treats, canned dog food, Dog Toys, Purina Moist & Meaty, Franganzia-Pine Sol-Laundry detergent, heavy duty leashes and collars. Some of the items needed for our feline friends: Nail clippers, Purina Cat & Kitten Chow, Friskies wet food Treats, Kitten bottles, KMR Milk, Cat towers/toys/wands, etc. Cat litter (scoopable & non). Towels and small blankets, Mops, dust pans, brooms trash bags, Lysol products, bleach and hand sanitizer.

• Worship Service: May 28, 9 a.m. UVO Memorial Day Service and 10:45 a.m. with Holy Communion. Coffee & Refreshments between services. Wear Red for Pentecost.
