Stuck in a rut? Don't know what to read next? The Palmerton Area Library suggests going on a "Blind Date with a Book."

Take a chance and check out a wrapped book without knowing the title and maybe fall in love with a new author or genre.Participants will have their names put in a drawing for a chance to win a free dinner for two. The $50 gift certificate was donated by the Palmerton Chamber of Commerce and is good at all local restaurants. The Program runs the month of February.The event is sponsored by the Teen Group and Friends of the Library.There are plenty of activities going on at the library for the young and old, but there are also free databases.Check out the library website at

The databases include:• NoveList: get book discussion guides, award-winning books, book recommendations for age ranges and reader types.• BrainFuse: practice tests on various subjects and grade levels, GED exams, ASVAB, etc.• OverDrive: Download free eBooks and eAudiobooks• Rosetta Stone: learn a new language• Zinio Digital Magazines: download free magazines• Ancestry.com: search for family history (in library use only)• Heritage Quest: search war records, and census and other family history information.• LawDepot: create legal documents, wills, rental agreements, etc.• ChiltonLibrary: online access to repair, maintenance and service information on the most popular cars, trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles.
