Area crashes

State police released information on area crashes:

• A 17-year-old Schnecksville female had minor injuries in a crash at 9:04 a.m. April 12 on Weidasville Road in Lowhill Township.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks said she was driving a 2022 Nissan Kicks northbound when she lost control of it. The car went off the eastern side of the roadway and struck a utility pole before crossing both lanes and coming to rest about 20 feet on the western side of the road.

The driver was cited for the crash.

• Delia N. Knowles, 21, of Kunkletown, was cited by state police at the Bethlehem barracks for failure to give information and render aid after a crash at 7:49 a.m. March 21 on Route 33 in Whitehall.

Police said she was driving a 2012 Honda Accord westbound when it struck the rear of a 2018 Subaru Legacy operated by Aaron B. Rymon, 35, of Stroudsburg.

Police said Knowles left the scene.

• A 1996 Chevrolet Silverado crashed at 11:50 a.m. March 5 on Mountain Road in Washington Township, landing on its driver’s side.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks said Kevin M. Kresge, 44, of Northampton, was operating the vehicle and was uninjured. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

Police said he was eastbound when the vehicle veered off the northern edge of the eastbound lane, went off the road, struck a mailbox, went airborne, rotating counterclockwise and landed on its driver’s side.

• Kimberly A. Rivera, 28, of Effort, was cited by state police at the Belfast barracks for following too closely after a crash at 8:04 a.m. April 17 on Route 33 in Lower Nazareth Township.

Police said she was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox southbound when she became distracted and did not see traffic in front of her slowing due to congestion. The Equinox struck the rear of a 2017 Ford Transit driven by Stephon J. Clifton, 35, of Wind Gap, which then struck the rear of a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban operated by Michael A. McDonald, 49, of Nazareth.

Police said no one was injured.

• Frank J. Martinez, 32, of Archbald, was cited after a crash at 4:54 p.m. April 4 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said he was driving a 2010 Hyundai Accent northbound when it exited the right side of the road, striking an embankment with its front end. The vehicle traveled another 100 feet, striking multiple fallen trees/logs and coming to rest in a ditch.

Police said Martinez sustained suspected minor injuries but did not require a medical transport to a hospital.
