Blue Mountain opens camping, more

Blue Mountain Resort camping and glamping green season will open on Friday, giving camping fans options for traditional “somewhat roughing it” adventures where enthusiasts bring their own gear.

Or, for the more pampering outdoor glamping experience, mountain lovers are provided with a 10x12-foot canvas tent, bunk beds with full-sized mattresses, a solar light, wooden deck with Adirondack chairs, picnic table, Coleman cooler and more. Food packages can be ordered and delivered from Slopeside Pub & Grill.

Blue Mountain Bike Park opens May 13 to season pass holders and May 14 to the public, Blue Mountain Bike Park is Pennsylvania’s highest vertical and the state’s largest bike park. Mountain bikers - from beginners to experts - navigate 29 thrilling bike trails, including Ripple that opened last year; The Swartz, a black diamond, rocky, loamy singletrack found off Boulevard that also opened last year; and Upper Empire rated the most difficult jump trail with its large tabletop jumps and large wooden drop - all serviced by the high-speed Comet Quad Lift.

On May 20 Summit Adventure Park will opens its New Adventure Cube - a four-sided, open “cage-like” experience complete with various climbing obstacles, accommodating 50 to 84 people per hour.
