It was recommended to Lehighton Borough Council yesterday that the council should purchase a new aerial fire truck instead of refurbishing two existing vehicles that are each more than 20 years old.

The council held a special meeting yesterday afternoon with members of the Lehighton Fire Department, first in the municipal building and then informally at Lehigh Fire Company No. 1 where members of council looked over the two trucks that would be replaced.
