Tamaqua police charged William Griffin, 30, of Tamaqua, with simple assault and harassment following an April 6 incident.
Police said they were called to a borough home for a domestic incident and spoke to Griffin, who said he and a woman engaged in an argument while coloring Easter eggs.
The argument escalated, and the woman told police that Griffin pushed her onto the coach while she was holding a child, struck her and tore off her pants while she was trying to get up. She told police that Griffin tried to take the child out of her arms twice but she was able to go to a front porch and scream for help as Griffin put his hand over her mouth.
