Lehighton Police Department reported on the following incidents:

• At 6:51 p.m. April 14, police were dispatched to the Sunoco at 32 E. Blakeslee Boulevard for a robbery. The clerk observed a theft in progress and intervened and was punched by the offender, Ryan Nelson, 23, of Slatington. Nelson left the establishment without paying for the items, but was caught by police shortly thereafter. Nelson has been charged with one count each of robbery, retail theft, and simple assault.

• At 9:16 p.m. April 14, police were dispatched to the 300 block of N. West Alley for an intoxicated man who was found to be a danger to himself and others. Michael Steven, 36, of Lehighton, was taken into custody and resisted arrest and caused damage to a marked Lehighton patrol vehicle. He was charged with public drunkenness, resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct, and institutional vandalism, and placed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
