Mahoning Township supervisors will see a rise in their pay, while planning commission and zoning hearing board members will be compensated for the first time,
Supervisors on a 4-0 vote Wednesday agreed to advertise the compensation ordinance. Supervisor Brian Reeser was absent.
Last month, the board voted 4-0 to increase supervisors’ pay to $100, as well as to pay planning commission and zoning hearing board members $50 per meeting attended.
Board Chairman Robert Slaw, who serves on the township’s planning commission, said at that time he’s a huge proponent of seeing members of the group be compensated.
Previously, supervisors were paid $50 a meeting, while planning commission and zoning hearing board members were not compensated.
