Art in the Park, the Lehighton Area Chamber's annual showcase for budding artists, was held in the Lehighton Borough Park.

Shozo Nagano of Jim Thorpe, an internationally recognized artist, judged the competition, which attracted 30 artists and 16 crafters.About 2,000 people attended the art festival, according to LACC President John Angelo. Darryl Arner, coordinator, said the event was double the size of last year's festival. Besides the arts and crafts, the festival featured food stands, face and mural painting for children, and a clown giving balloons to children.
