April 8, 1964 - Joe Visnosky wins three events to help Palmerton roll to a 79 1/2-15 1/2 Lehigh Valley League track victory over rival Slatington. Visnosky breaks the tape in both the 100 and 220-yard dashes and then registers the winning toss in the shot put. The Blue Bombers, coached by Don Holland, also receive a new school record from Charlie Romig, who clears 12-0 in the pole vault. Others Palmerton athletes to gain firsts include Dave Snyder (440), Wayne Heintzelman (mile), Pete Perich (high jump), Doug Roth (broad jump) and Shupp (discus). Slatington’s only win comes from Brian Owens in the 880.
