Palmerton has been turned down for several Local Share Account grants.

Borough Manager Autumn Canfield told borough council on Thursday that the borough did not receive money for a police car, fire exhaust system, or fire company parking lot.

Canfield said that Commonwealth Financing Authority met earlier this month to review the LSA grant applications, and said it made decisions regarding the statewide LSA funds of which the borough applied for.

“We were not funded through this program,” Canfield said. “There is an upcoming CFA meeting in May where they will be considering the county level funds we applied for as well. We are hopeful they will receive our applications for traffic signal pre-emption and upgraded security cameras favorably.”
