Celebrate Earth Day by spending time caring for the environment.
The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau is seeking volunteers for its regionwide litter pickup day from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 22 rain or shine.
The cleanup is just one component of PMVB’s “Pick Up the Poconos” campaign, which has resulted in nearly 28,000 bags of trash being picked up.
Anyone interested can fill out a volunteer form at PickUpthePoconos.com. The deadline to sign up is April 10, by 5 p.m.
Volunteers can choose from more than 20 locations. There are also various private cleanups happening. Supply kits will be given to volunteers on the day of the cleanup. The kits consist of trash bags, gloves, safety vests and other supplies.
After the cleanup, volunteers are invited to the annual Earth Day Celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Pocono Organics.
