The first meeting of the Towamensing Township Supervisors was held on Tuesday evening after the reorganization.

The supervisors approved their annual donations to the Carbon County Home Health Care for $2,000; Palmerton Area Library for $4,000; and Towamensing Township Volunteer Fire Company for $5,000.Winter road maintenance will take precedence over garbage collection as it has in previous years.The township also reminds residents that Christmas tree pickup is on Jan. 12, weather permitting.The soccer committee requested two goal posts for the soccer field. The posts will cost $2,800 total. The request was approved.The Towamensing Township Volunteer Fire Company is looking for volunteers for the kitchen, anyone on the business side and a secretary.Volunteers can contact the township at 610-681-4202.
