Two people were found dead at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence on Maple Avenue in Barnesville, Ryan Township, according to state police at the Frackville barracks.

Troopers identified the deceased as Lisa Long, 56, of Barnesville, and Ronald Zangari, 52, of East Mahanoy Avenue, Girardville. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they were dispatched to the home after receiving a call from a relative who asked them to conduct a welfare check at the residence. Upon entry into the home, police said they found the two bodies.

Police said a Troop L Major Case Team was activated and responded to the location.

They said the incident is considered to be an isolated one and that there is no threat to the public.
