The Rush Township Sewer Department is getting a new utility truck.
The township’s board of supervisors voted Thursday evening to purchase a truck from New Holland Auto in Lancaster County. It will cost $75,944 and be financed over five years through Mauch Chunk Trust.
During Thursday’s regular meeting, the board also hired William Cavanaugh as a sanitary sewer laborer. He will receive $25 per hour.
Police Chief Rick Weaver released the department’s report for February. There were 64 incidents and complaints; 2 criminal arrests; 1 non-traffic citation; 26 traffic citations, 16 parking tickets and one accident report.
George Gerhard issued the Hometown Volunteer Fire Co. report, noting that the department responded to 20 calls over the past month, including three structure fires.
The April supervisors’ meeting will be changed from April 20 to April 5 at 7 p.m.
The board also noted that the township administrative office will be closed on April 7 in observance of Good Friday.
