The Weatherly American Legion Auxiliary announced the winners of its annual Americanism Essay Contest,

Susan Parker, a senior, claimed top honors in the senior high division; Nicole Dammeyer, a seventh grader, won the junior high division; and Bethanie Boggs, an eighth grader at St. Nicholas School, was named the high honor winner for that school.

Parker is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Parker of White Haven; Dammeyer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dammeyer of Weatherly; and Boggs is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Boggs, also of Weatherly.

The theme for the contest was “Americanism – What is Means Today.”
