March 14, 1970 - Tamaqua’s Joseph Baddick and Summit Hill’s Louis Michalik both gain top honors at the first Tamaqua Jaycees Junior Bowling Tournament at Sky Lanes. Baddick earns the title of overall series champion with a 528. Competing in the 16-18-year-old age bracket, Baddick rolls games of 137, 193 and 198. Michalik, in the 13-15-year-old category, captures the highest single game score with a 207. Other series winners include Hometown’s Mike Cappos (518 in the 13-15 age group) and David Cappos (440 in the 12-and-under), and Diane Sheer (383 in the girls division). More than 70 bowlers participate in the tourney.
