An Effort woman has been charged with several hundred counts of stalking and harassing her ex-boyfriend.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office in the case against Kelly House:
On Feb. 2, a man told a district attorney’s investigator that House, 34, was harassing and stalking him and members of his family.
The District Attorney’s Office investigated the complaint and said that beginning on Jan. 17 House started sending text messages to the man and his family.
From Jan. 17 to Jan. 29, the district attorney’s office said House sent hundreds of harassing text messages.
On Feb. 5, House called the man and left him a voicemail stating that she had been to the home of his mother-in-law, but had not gone inside due to the presence of a dog.
On Feb. 6, House arrived at Signature Training Academy, a gym and boxing/wrestling facility which House knows the man frequents.
House is seen on the facility’s surveillance system apparently damaging the man’s vehicle and then entering the facility and using profanity when encountering the man, the DA’s office said.
House created Facebook profiles posing as the man, his wife, and their son, the DA’s Office said. The Facebook profiles contain disparaging language concerning the man’s family.
House communicated in an anonymous manner with the man a total of 243 times and contacted him, both anonymously and with her identity known, a total of 142 times at inconvenient hours.
House is in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing March 10 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
