Franklin Township last week composed a list of uses for funds it received from last year’s COVID-19 stimulus package:
The board decided to budget the $220,037 in ARPA funds as follows:
• Road crew - roads/culvert, $70,000
• Engineering fees (new township building), $50,000
• Security cameras - Phifer’s Ice Dam Park, administrative office and police, $40,000
• Salt shed, $40,000
• Franklin Township Fire Company security cameras, $5,000
• Franklin Township Athletic Association (Christman Ballfield concession stand), $4,000
• Fuel metering system, $4,000
• Equipment for virtual meetings, $3,500
• Miscellaneous items, $2,037
• Franklin Township fire police radios, $1,500
Board Chairman Fred Kemmerer Jr. noted this was the township’s second distribution of ARPA funds.
“It was divvied up so it can benefit the community in different ways,” Kemmerer said.
