Pleasant Valley School District

Pleasant Valley School District’s board of directors on Thursday night approved the following items:

• A camera upgrade from Johnson Controls at Pleasant Valley Intermediate School for $71,114.46 through a Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency grant.

• The 2023-24 Monroe Career and Technical Institute proposed budget in the amount of $10,075,633. Pleasant Valley’s share of this budget will be $1,929,955.

• A second reading and adoption of policy 334 pertaining to sick leave

• A first reading of policies on fundraisers, student wellness, professional development and student activity/special purpose funds.

• hiring of Kathleen Meckes as a monitor at Pleasant Valley Intermediate School at $11.24 per hour.

• hiring of Arianna Weaver as a professional staff substitute.

• Resignations of Dakota Altemose, substitute custodian; Cathleen Brana, food service employee; Alison Gimbi, school counselor; Adrianne Keefer, third grade teacher; and Janet Dooner, substitute custodian, food service employee and monitor.

• Retirement of Cindy Gonzalez, food service employee.

• Purchase of textbooks for an AP language and composition course for $9,468.27 through a Ready To Learn grant.

• Purchase of textbooks for an AP literature course for $6,507.82 through a Ready To Learn grant.

• Purchase of a new 2023 Kawasaki Mule SX for athletics at a cost of $8,796.20 to be paid using funds from 2022-23 annual sponsorship, St Luke’s Sports Medicine vehicle sponsorship and a donation from BSN Sports.

• Acceptance of the June 30, 2022 audited financial statements as prepared by Gorman & Associates, P.C.

• Purchase of a bronze bear statue from Bronze Depot to be placed in front of Pleasant Valley High School at a cost of $7,995 plus crating and shipping to be paid from the St. Luke’s annual sponsorship.
