Schuylkill County crashes
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways:
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 3:11 p.m. on Jan. 24 along Route 443 in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Mary A. Schneck, 75, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2017 Honda Fit westbound when she failed to stay in her lane of travel. Her vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and went onto the berm where her vehicle struck a utility pole.
Schneck was flown from the scene by a medical helicopter to the Hershey Medical Center. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• A hit-and-run crash was reported at 7:13 p.m. on Jan. 18 along Route 183 in Cressona. Troopers said a vehicle was driven northbound when the driver attempted to go under a bridge. The vehicle struck the bridge overhead, then continued without stopping.
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 11:34 a.m. on Jan. 14 along Seltzer Road in Norwegian Township. Troopers said Jamin M. Kaylor, 30, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2006 Buick Lucerne northbound and traveling at a high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate a left turn. The vehicle went onto the berm and collided into a tree.
Kaylor was not injured. She was cited for the crash.
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 along Route 61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Michael J. Breslin, 61, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2012 Toyota RAV4 southbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The Toyota went onto the berm and struck the guide rail, went over the railing and into a wooded area. The vehicle flipped one time and came to final rest in the wooded area.
Breslin, who was not injured, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. The vehicle was towed.
• A Luzerne County trucker was involved in a crash in Schuylkill County on Jan. 18. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred in the northbound lanes at 4:36 a.m. along Interstate 81 near the Kline Township exit.
Troopers said Everal B. Eaton III, 50, of Drums, was driving a 2017 Kenworth Northwest tractor when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the road. The truck went onto the berm and crashed into an embankment causing it to overturn onto its passenger side where it came to rest along the shoulder of the road.
Eaton was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, troopers noted. The truck had to be towed.
