January 30, 1960 - Lansford rallies from an early deficit to defeat Nesquehoning 65-57 at Smith Hall in Slatington to capture the Black Diamond League’s first-half championship. John Hackash and Jim France lead a balanced attack for the Panthers, as both players finish with 15 points. The winners, who trailed by 10 points after the first quarter and by six at the half, also receive 14 points from Mike Baran and 11 from Mike Karnish. Baran’s four free throws in the third quarter break a tie and put Lansford ahead to stay. For the Warriors, who were forced to play without their top scorer Tom Ouly, who was home with the mumps, Jack Ruzicka scores a game-high 23 points.
