Instantaneous world news, as well as immediate local bulletins, highlight a new capability in the television dial of local cable television subscribers.

Blue Ridge Cable Channel 3, serving the Slatington, Palmerton, Lehighton and Jim Thorpe areas, has instituted a United Press International teletype news service capability on its program log. The new service also allows for inclusion of immediate, fast-breaking local news stories on a separate and distinct news line over the same facility.

The service utilized the television screen of cable subscribers as a news window. World news, sports, features, television highlights, stock reports and bulletins are printed across the upper two-thirds of the television screen in 10-minute cycles.
