A Monroe County woman has been charged with retail theft from a business in Monroe County.

Misti Robinson, 43, of Gouldsboro, was charged by Pocono Mountain Regional Police on Saturday with retail theft from the Walmart in Mount Pocono.

Police say she loaded a shopping cart with merchandise and attempted to leave the store.

Police say when confronted, Robinson attempted to assault the Walmart loss prevention officer and fled the store without the merchandise.

Police took Robinson into custody shortly after the incident.

She was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Robinson faces charges of retail theft; simple assault; disorderly conduct; and harassment.

She is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Feb. 2.
