ON THIS DATE JANUARY 20, 1962

Lehighton officials unveiled plans for the proposed Community Swimming Pool to be constructed at the Baer Memorial Park during a committee meeting of which George Reich is chairman.

Borough Manager Paul McCauley, Paul Brey, president of the borough council, Carlos Baer, donor of the land Mayor Albert U. Koch met with the Buchart architectural firm, after which time it was indicated the pool will be larger than original plans studied by the borough so that it meets the needs of an area population of 16,000.

Baer donated the land in memory of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Baer of Lehighton, to be used for recreational purposes.
