Congregation meets

Zion Lutheran will only have one service this Sunday at 10 a.m. It will be followed by the congregational meeting after which a soup and bread luncheon, hosted by the Church Council, will be offered.

The church’s usual worship schedule includes services at 5 p.m. Saturday and Sundays at 8 and 10:30 a.m.

The 8 a.m. service is also broadcast via Zoom and the 10:30 via Facebook Live. A simple prerecorded spoken service is available each week on Facebook.

Adult Sunday School is held on the first and third Sundays and all other ages the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 9:15 a.m.

Growing program

The Western Pocono Community Library shares that due to popular demand, WPCL has added an additional Toddler Rhythm time to its weekly programs. Families little ones can now shake their sillies out either Mondays at 9:30 a.m. or Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Bingo night

The American Legion, Post 927, Gilbert, will host another bingo

night Monday. It is open to the community. Card sales begin at 6:30 p.m. The first game is called at 7 p.m. There will be game specials and food and drinks will be available.

VITA program

The Pocono Mountains United Way has announced that the Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is available again this year.

The program provides free tax return help. To make use of the program a person needs to make less than $60,000 per year and be a U.S. Citizen.

WPCL adult activities

In addition to the walking track at the Western Pocono Community Library open every day, though at different times, one can enjoy adult coloring and puzzles in WPCL’s café every Monday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Blood drive Monday

The Miller-Keystone Blood Drive has moved to the Western Pocono Community Library track area in Brodheadsville on the second and fourth Mondays of the month.

Appointments must be made directly with Miller-Keystone at www.giveapint.org.

Meeting Monday

Polk Township’s Board of Supervisors is slated to meet at 7 p.m., Monday, at the township building in Kresgeville.

WE Republicans

The West End Republican Club will meet at 7 p.m. at Cherry’s Restaurant in Kresgeville. Those planning to eat dinner there should arrive an hour earlier.

Legion Sons meet

The Sons of the American Legion will meet in monthly session at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Legion Hall in Brodheadsville. Prospective members are welcome.

Looking ahead

On Feb. 4 the Western Pocono Community Library is celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day with a special Story Time at 11 a.m.

Families are welcome to bring their child/children to the library to browse, play in the Children’s Area, and get their own WPCL card.

Please apply online or at the Circulation Desk, is the library’s request.

Winter Fair set

The West End Fair will host its second Winter Fair the weekend of Feb. 25 and 26 at the fairgrounds. Saturday’s hours will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be entertainment, vendors, games, food and much more.

Ross Township Historical

The Ross Township Historical Society is pleased to announce that the museum, located at 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg will be open to the public on Feb. 4 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. There is no charge for admission.

Come visit us and see photos, artifacts and furniture, most of which has been donated by local families representing life as it once was in our lovely township. There is no charge for admission.
