Walker Township Supervisors approved a pay raise for the next board.
Currently, each supervisor is paid $50 per monthly meeting. The new rate will be $1,875 per year per supervisor, to be paid in 12 monthly installments.
The pay increase will not take effect until the next time the supervisors are elected to their positions.
The following reports were made:
• Roadmaster Chad Felty reported that they fixed the bridge at Cold Run. Additional touch-up work will be done as needed.
• Fuel oil will need to be ordered. They have 900 gallons, and one of the tanks is empty. Felty will be checking for the best price.
“The new Salt Contract for 2024 just opened,” Felty added, “and will be coming due March 15, 2023.” The township will keep track of how much salt is used until that point to place the order for next year.
• New England Fire Company report for December, 2022: Seven calls, two working fires, two fire police calls, two crashes, and one tree down, bringing the calls for 2022 to 71.
• The fire company will be holding a Rose Sale for Feb, 14. Call Chad Felty at 570-640-6007 for pricing and to place an order.
