Lehighton rolled over Jim Thorpe in a wrestling match on Wednesday.

In basketball action, Palmerton’s boys and girls teams both remained unbeaten.

Lehighton cruised to a commanding 69-5 Schuylkill League victory over Jim Thorpe.

The Indians won 12 of the 13 bouts, including seven by fall. Evan Wentz (133), Nicholas Zeigenfuss (139), Carter Hontz (145), Ethan Barachie (152), Jacob Ferguson (160) and Brok Solt (172) all posted pins for the Tribe.

Steven Korte scored the Oympians’ lone points with a technical fall at 121 pounds.

A 25-point opening quarter propelled Palmerton to a 55-21 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.

The Bombers were led by Bryaden Hosier with 14 points, including nine in the first quarter. Kendall Robinson chipped in with nine points.

Palmerton improves to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the CL. The Rough Riders fall to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in league play.

The Pirates’ Justyne Furtunas led all scorers with 12 points.

Tamaqua moves to 4-5 overall, while RCCS falls to 0-5.

The Bombers’ Bethie Morgan poured in a game-high 20 points, including 16 in the opening half. Hannah Barry added 10 points.

Hailey Jenkins paced Catty with 16 points.

Palmerton remains unbeaten at 7-0 overall (6-0 CL), while Catty falls to 3-5 (1-4).

Jim Thorpe downed Marian, 48-43.

Josh Louk led the Olympians with 11 points, while Pierce Gothard and Brody Schrantz 10 and nine points, respectively.

The Colts’ Justin Delacruz led all scorers with 19 points. Kaiden Nolasco added 11.

Blue Mountain-Panther Vy.

Blue Mountain hit nine three-pointers in a 58-50 victory over Panther Valley.

The Blue Eagles’ Henninger poured in a game-high 23 points.

Danny Wehr had 18 points to lead the Panthers, who went just 8-for-27 from the free-throw line. Gavin Yuricheck and Ben Baneravage both added eight points apiece for PV.

Tamaqua-Williams Valley

Tamaqua defeated Williams Valley, 41-28.

Jaedan Chalk and Logan Wargo paced the Blue Raiders with eight points apiece.

8TH GRADE

Jim Thorpe beat Tamaqua, 26-21.

B. Schrantz led the winners with seven points.

Weatherly topped Tamaqua, 35-31.

Chase Grier and Chance Stauffer scored 11 points each for the Wreckers.
