Tamaqua and Northwestern picked up boys basketball victories on Wednesday. In other scholastic action, Palmerton recorded a girls basketball win, while Lehighton and Pleasant Valley triumphed in wrestling.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Tamaqua-LLA

Tamaqua used its perimeter shooting to come away with its first victory of the season.

The Blue Raiders drained 11 three-pointers on their way to 63-59 non-league victory Lincoln Leadership Academy.

Noah Mateyak had five treys and 18 points to lead Tamaqua (1-4). Connor Dillon and Lucas Milot added 16 and 12 points respectively.

Isaiah Medina led the Lions (3-4) with 17 points.

Jarod Moore was the lone Bear to net double figures as he finished with 15 points.

Pleasant Valley falls to 1-3 overall and 1-3 in the EPC.
