Fire crews called to Bowmanstown home

No one was injured after an electrical incident at a home in Bowmanstown Sunday night.

Borough fire Chief Michael Spairana Jr. said the incident occurred around 9:55 p.m. at a home at 650 Lime St.

Spairana said the incident was believed to have been brought on by a receptacle issue inside the home.

“We advised the homeowner to get in touch with an electrician to check everything out,” Spairana said. “The homeowners were home at the time, saw a light haze smoke, some flickering of lights in the house, saw a light haze outside, evacuated and called for us.”

Spairana said the damage done to the home was “very minor.”

He said firefighters remained on scene for about an hour.

Spairana said also assisting at the scene were the Palmerton Fire Department, Parryville Fire Department, and Diamond Fire Company in Walnutport and the fire department’s RIT team.
