December 5, 1973 - Northwestern’s Tom Sacks hits a jumper from the top of the key with one second left to play to lift the Tigers to a thrilling 46-45 victory over Fleetwood. After a pair of free throws gives Fleetwood the lead with 19 seconds remaining, Northwestern holds the ball until Sacks puts up his game-winner. Jeff Kohler leads the Tigers, coached by Nick Drosnock, with a double-double. Kohler tallies 17 points and pulls down 12 rebounds. The winners also receive 10 boards and five steals from Alan Hills, while Sacks scores all six of his points in the deciding fourth quarter.
