A Mahoning Township man has admitted to distributing amounts of methamphetamine.
The Pennsylvania State Police - Lehighton barracks were sent to a house check for James Shirley, 53, of the 200 block of Lower Nis Hollow Drive, Mahoning Township on Nov. 17.
Police seized 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale containing suspected methamphetamine residue, two small plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine residue, 120 small plastic bags, eight plastic bags, three clear plastic bags with an apple stamp, and $141.
Shirley was taken into custody and admitted he has previously distributed controlled substances and regularly consumes methamphetamine.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly.
