Carbon County Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners acted on or discussed the following items during their weekly meeting last Thursday.

• Tabled a motion 2-1 for one week to an amendment to an agreement with Tyler Technologies of Plano, Texas for replacing court case management software. The amendment, if it was approved, would cost $122,080 because of extending the go-live date to March.

Commissioner Chris Lukasevich said more discussion with the court was needed because he feels the offices utilizing the system should also use some of their automation fund for the project.

• Approved the advertising of the Carbon County Annual Salary Board meeting, followed by the weekly commissioners meeting at 2 p.m. on Jan. 3.

• Reappointed Fred Bresswein of Lehighton and Harold J. Pudliner of Weatherly to four-year terms on the Carbon County Planning Commission.

• Approved extending an equipment maintenance contract with Radio Maintenance Inc. of Reading for an additional three years, expiring Dec. 31, 2025. The cost for the three years is $234,000.

• Approved a second amendment to an agreement with Tu-Way Mobile Communications Inc. of Bethlehem to maintain and operate the Northeast Core phone system and ESInet services for the region. The maintenance includes hardware, software support and on-site services at a cost of $62,132.53 and is covered under the Statewide Interconnectivity Grant.

• Approved an agreement with Health Network Laboratories, doing business as Forensic Pathology Associates of Allentown to provide coroner services for 2023.

• Approved the 2022 Homeland Security Grant program agreement between the state and the Northeast Regional Counter Terrorism Task Force, which Carbon is part of. The grant, which runs through Aug. 29, 2025, is in the amount of $898,918.
