A four-term state representative from Monroe County is facing two opponents in Tuesday’s General Election.
Rep. Jack Rader, a Republican from Jackson Township, is seeking re-election to another two-year term and is being challenged by Hope Christman of Chestnuthill Township and Autumn Pangia.
The district includes the townships of Chestnuthill, Eldred, Hamilton, Jackson, Polk, Ross, Tobyhanna and Tunkhannock, and represents 62,863 residents.
Rader took office in December 2014, and is in his fourth term.
He is a member of the House Local Government, Tourism and Recreational Development, Children & Youth and Finance committees.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Susquehanna University and his professional experience includes owning and operating The Resort at Mountain Springs Lake and The Lodge at Mountain Springs Lake.
Opponent Christman, who is running on the Democratic ticket, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Stroudsburg University and a master’s degree in social work from Marywood University.
She has experience working in nonprofit agencies (American Red Cross, Domestic Violence Service Center, Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network Food Pantry) and is the owner of Zingers Wings & Things.
Pangia, a resident of Monroe County for 33 years, is on the Libertarian ticket. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College in 2011 and spent her professional career working for fortune 500 companies, being a licensed customs broker and a former corporate professional.
A Pennsylvania representative’s base salary is $95,432.
