The Polk Township supervisors took the following actions AT Monday’s meeting:

• Received mini bids from Locust Ridge, Hanson Aggregates and Eureka Stone Quarry for anti-skid material. The supervisors voted 3-0 to accept the bid from Hanson Aggregates for $15.23/ton.

• The road crew has been removing trees and cutting limbs on various roads around the township to increase visibility. They have also replaced and upgraded township signs.

• The Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company will hold trunk or treat on Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the firehouse in Kresgeville. Attendees may park in the field next to the firehouse.

• There will be a short Veterans Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial, located on Tract Road in Kresgeville, on Nov. 11 at 12 p.m. It will include a prayer from Pastor Deborah Scheffey of Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church, ringing of the church bell, and George Moretz will play Taps.
