The Friends of Tuscarora and Locust Lake State Parks will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Locust Lake program shelter in Barnesville.

The volunteer project will run from 10 a.m. to noon, and participants should meet at the contact station at the park’s front entrance. The project entails cleaning around the contact station, washing the station and trimming trees and shrubs.

The friends will hold the Second Annual Bark in the Park from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 at Locust Lake State Park. Volunteers are needed.

The group meets the fourth Saturday of each month between March and October. It is a great opportunity for families, scouts, students, or adults who want to help or earn volunteer hours. Each month there is a different project, such as litter removal, playground maintenance or trail clean up.
