A Berks County man entered guilty pleas in two pending cases.
Jon Scott Snyder, 22, of Leesport, pleaded guilty to one count of theft of services and possession of a small amount of marijuana, both misdemeanors, for an incident on Aug. 18, 2020, filed by Franklin Township police. In exchange for the plea, a felony 3 count of criminal trespass was dropped.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, for an incident on Aug. 7, 2021, filed by Palmerton police. In that case, a felony 3 count of flight to avoid apprehension was dropped in a plea deal.
In the theft of services case, Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika sentenced Snyder to serve one to 24 months in a state correctional institution and on the marijuana case to serve 8 to 17 days with credit for 17 days already served and paroled.
On the resisting arrest charge, he was sentenced to serve one to 24 months in a state prison, concurrent with the theft charge.
He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, pay court costs of more than $1,000 and when paroled render 75 hours of community service.
All the sentences also run concurrent with a Berks County term he is serving in a state prison.
