State police at Lehighton — DUI crashes

State police at Lehighton reported the following driving under the influence crashes.

A 33-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 10:06 a.m. Aug. 28 on the Maury Road in Franklin Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said he was driving a Chevrolet Impala that crashed in the area where the Maury Road meets Long Run Road.

Police said the man sustained “possible injuries” and was transported by the Lehighton Ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

• A 53-year-old Saylorsburg woman was arrested by state police at the Lehighton barracks for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police said the arrest followed a stop of a Ford Ranger pickup truck she was driving at 10 p.m. Sept. 3 at the intersection of Rt. 115 and Henry Street in Ross Township.

• The driver of a Hyundai Sonata that crashed at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 10 on Route 248 at the intersection with State Street in Franklin Township is facing DUI charges.

Police said the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance and also had a controlled substance in his/her possession.

• The driver of a Toyota van that crashed on the Mahoning Mountain at 11:50 p.m. Sept. 9 is facing charges of driving under the influence.

Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Mahoning Mountain and Summer Mountain roads in Mahoning Township. The driver is facing charges of being under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, police said.
