New landscape, garden business sprouts up in Walnutport

They’re the trusted go to for all landscape and garden needs.

Lehigh Landscape Supply & Nursery in Walnutport is a family-owned landscape and garden supply company.

Dan Dal Maso and Jason Grimmer are partners in the business, at 1045 Riverview Dr., along Route 145,

“We do landscape supplies, supply the general public and contractors with flowers, bushes, trees, mulch and stone,” Grimmer said. “Customers can either come to the store and shop the selection here and take products with them, or set up delivery or go to (our) website and see what we have and call in and do delivery for the bulk materials.”

It features fertilizers, bird seed, A.M. Leonard tool line, straw, grass seed, and other materials for gardening or nursery needs.

Dal Maso said he and Grimmer have been doing business together for a number of years on different levels, and said one of Grimmer’s businesses is Palmer Nursery in Palmer Township.

“We have the ability to either source material from one another, or shift deliveries out of one store to the other because we carry the same product line,” Dal Maso said.

The business hasn’t skipped a beat since it opened in mid-April, Dal Maso said.

“The feedback we’re receiving has been extremely positive at the local government levels, as well as the customers coming in,” he said. “All in all, I think it’s been a successful launch.”

Dal Maso said most of their customers are within a 10-12-mile radius.

“We have a lot of return business already,” he said. “We want to get our name out and say ‘we’re here and can help.’”

Dal Maso said the business has three employees, and said that the seasonality of the business drives its employment count.

“We’re kind of in-between seasons right now,” Dal Maso said. “As we continue to ramp up, we will staff up at the same time.”

Dal Maso said they have set up a truck specifically for delivery out of their location, which results in streamlining, efficiency and productivity,

“We want to continue on the growth trail, and get a little more involved with the community,” he said. “I think one of the things that we could capitalize on is our method of delivery, and we’re looking to branch those services out as well.”

Grimmer said the business specializes in home and commercial beautification.

“We really just want anyone who’s interested in gardening or landscaping their house, to know there’s a new supply center in the area to come and use us as a resource,” he said. “Ultimately, we’re not looking to be competitors against the competition; we’re just looking to have more selection, and another place for people to go.”

The business will hold an end-of-season fall festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 15 that will feature about a dozen vendors, along with food trucks.

The business is a seven-day-a-week operation. For more information, call 484-263-0311, or visit its Facebook page for its hours.
